The back of a Milo is magnetic – it’s part of the clip mechanism and provides more easy options for attaching Milo. The magnet and the radios that Milo contains emit electromagnetic energy. Electromagnetic fields may interfere with some medical devices, such as pacemakers and ICDs (implantable cardioverter defibrillators).
Users of pacemakers and ICDs are advised not to position their Milo close to their implanted device. Consider maintaining at least 10 cm (4 inches) of separation between Milo and the device to avoid any interference.
As a practical example: if your implanted device is on your left side, do not attach Milo on your left immediately above or adjacent to it. Instead, attach it on your right, for example on the right shoulder strap of a backpack.
Consult your physician with any concerns or questions as everyone’s situation differs.
If you believe Milo is interfering with your pacemaker or other medical device, stop using Milo immediately and consult your physician for information specific to your medical device.
